Arecibo Observatory & Cueva Ventana Combo Tour

Arecibo Observatory & Cueva Ventana Combo Tour

This adventure begins with a tour of the Arecibo Ionospheric Observatory. Built-in 1963, it is a very important part of investigations of inter-spatial communications in the US. The radio telescope's dish measures an amazing 20 acres, the largest in the world.

Once we get to the observatory, we'll walk up a fairly steep hill to get to the observatory itself. The walkway is a combination of steps and an inclined sidewalk, but the observatory offers a free ride to the entrance for elderly & handicapped guests.

We will then drive towards "Cueva Ventana" also known as the Window Cave, a large cave situated atop a limestone cliff in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, overlooking the magnificent Río Grande de Arecibo valley. This hidden treasure has become a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

On this tour, you will take a 45-minute walk with a guide to experience this natural beauty! After walking a short distance and passing through some stalagmite and stalactite formations at "Cueva Ventana" you will then witness "The Window". This one of a kind view will leave you speechless and is a must for pictures.
