Marco Island Boat Assisted Kayak Tour
Marco Island Boat Tours opens the remote areas of the 10,000 Islands with our signature tour. The Boat Assisted Kayak Eco Tour combines the best of a boating tour, a kayaking tour and a walking tour into a single wonderful experience.
First, with your naturalist guide, you will explore the coastal 10,000 Islands searching for wildlife such as roseate spoonbills, osprey, ibis, great blue herons, snowy egrets, shore birds, bald eagles, racoons, dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, sharks and other creatures. You will learn will about the island ecosystems, the area’s history and rich culture.
Once you reach one of the many destinations, your naturalist guide will "slow" the tour down and turn it into a "hands-on" eco-experience. Very stable, comfortable kayaks are then deployed to get you as close to the flora and fauna. No experience is necessary. You will not paddle far or hard.
Conditions normally allow you to continue your interpretive experience with a slow, walking tour on pristine barrier island beach; an island that is seldom visited by others. With your guide, explore the island’s shell wrack lines, shallow tidal zones, dunes, uniquely adapted plants, mangrove swamps, many different invertebrate species, and much more. Every day, every tide ever tour is different.
From the island you will paddle back to your boat and then travel back to the mainland in time for lunch, dinner or another tour. Bring your camera and a shell collecting bag!
