Trip to Cirque de Navacelles
Once on board, we will leave Montpellier towards the great landscape of Mont Saint Baudille and its exceptional view on the Herault valley. Being a natural boundary between the Herault Valley and the Larzac Causses, Mont Saint Baudille offers a view of the most emblematic mountains in the region like the Hortus and the Pic Saint Loup of course but, also the Mont Ventoux and the Canigou summit in good weather.
We will then move onto the village of Navacelles and its stunning landscapes. Classified Grand Site d'Occitanie, the cirque of Navacelles will surprise you as much by its height than by the richness of its setting. From the belvedere of Auriol Balm or Blandas, enjoy an incredible panoramic view of this masterpiece of Nature. In the heart of the cirque, you can visit the hamlet of Navacelles, a medieval treasure in harmony with nature, with its houses leaning against the cliff. A village surrounded by water thanks to the river Vis and its waterfall which, being a precious source for the wheat farmers of the time, is the founder of the cirque of Navacelles.
Whether you like history, hiking or want to share a picnic at the water's edge, Navacelles has everything to please you!
La Foux mill and its resurgence, the resurgence of the Vis: It takes half an hour to get there. The path is accessible to all, but we must still keep some forces because, the return is mounted.
A very pleasant walk that allows access to the Moulin de la Foux near the village of Vissec.
The Mills from the 17th century can be visited, and they are home to the resurgence of the Vis river, a waterway of incredible beauty.
The translucent color and the power of the waters coming out of the earth offer us an astonishing sight. In front of this force of nature, one is both impressed and subjugated.
We will finally finish the day coming back to Montpellier.
